What should I wear for a glacier hike?

Dress in warm, layered clothing as weather conditions can change rapidly. Wear a waterproof jacket and pants, sturdy hiking boots, and bring a hat, gloves, and sunglasses. We provide all specialised glacier  and boat equipment such as crampons, ice axes, harness, helmet, water safety equipment (if the tour is combined with boat tour).

Do I need previous experience to join a glacier hike?

No previous experience is necessary for our hikes. Our guides will provide all the necessary training and support. For more information about the tour and level of fitness required, please head to the description of the particular tour.

Is it safe to hike on the glacier?

Yes, safety is our top priority. Our guides are highly trained in glacier safety and first aid. They will ensure you are properly equipped and will lead you safely through the glacier terrain. Please follow guide instructions during the tour.

Can children participate in glacier hikes?

Yes, children aged 14  and above can join our beginner glacier hikes. However, the Ultimate Glacier Hike and more strenuous tours are recommended for older children and adults.

How long do the glacier hikes last?

Our glacier hikes range from 3,5 to 4 hours, depending on the tour you choose (Ultimate Glacier Adventure 5-6 h due to combination with the boat tour). Private and customizable tours can vary in duration based on your preferences.

The best time to visit the ice caves is during the winter months, from November to March, when the ice is stable and the caves are accessible.

What should I bring for an ice cave tour?

Similar to glacier hikes, wear warm, layered clothing, waterproof outer layers, and sturdy hiking boots. Bring a hat, gloves, and sunglasses. We provide helmets and any other necessary equipment.

Are the ice caves safe to explore?

Can I take photos inside the ice caves?

Absolutely! The ice caves offer stunning photo opportunities. We encourage you to bring a camera or smartphone to capture the beauty of the ice formations.

How difficult is it to explore the ice caves?

Our ice cave tours are designed for all skill levels and require only a basic to moderate level of fitness. The tours involve some walking and possibly some crawling to enter certain caves, but our guides will assist you throughout the journey.

What is the age limit for that tour?

Age limit for the tour is 8 years old. We advise to contact us before the tour to make sure about age requirements.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made 48 hours before the tour are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours of the tour will be charged a cancellation fee. Please refer to our website for detailed terms and conditions.

What languages do the guides speak?

Safety is our priority, and tours may be rescheduled or cancelled in the event of severe weather conditions. We will notify you as soon as possible and offer alternative dates or a full refund.

Is there a place to eat before or after the tour?

When should I arrive before my tour?

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled tour time. This allows enough time for check-in, getting fitted with equipment, and a safety briefing.

What if I do not have waterproof clothing or hiking shoes?

You can rent shoes and waterproof jackets and pants for an additional price (1.000 kr per item) on the location.
