Vatnajokull Premium Ice Cave logistic:
- Check-in 30 min before
- 3-4 h (experience all together)
- 40minute drive-in in a Super Jeep*
- 1-2 h short hike* and ice cave ( including exploration of the cave)
- 40minute drive-out in a Super Jeep*
* depends on road/weather conditions
* The time of the hike changes depending on the condition/location

PROGRAM
Ice caves are natural features that change every year. To aim for the best experience for you, we try to tailor our trips depending on the stage of the particular ice cave and weather conditions. We are a small operation with permits to operate in all available ice caves which gives us flexibility to choose the one representing the best condition for that day*(considering weather, ice cave condition, tourism traffic).
* In case of cave flooding or not possible access to the cave we will get in touch with you to discuss other options.
What to expect?
Our tour starts in Fjallsarlon Glacier Lagoon (meeting point) where your guide will provide all necessary equipment (helmet, crampons, head lamp) and weather updates. When the whole group is ready we board in and drive one of our luxury Super Jeeps towards our chosen blue cave destination. We hike towards the cave and explore its unreal beauty. The tour length varies between 3-4 hours. Before or after the tour you can enjoy a delicious meal at our “Frost” Restaurant.
